This verse in the King James

King James wording
Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

Epaphras is praying not merely for you to know God’s will, but to be so full and assured in it that you can stand.

You are held in a prayer that keeps reaching toward your maturity and assurance in all of God’s will. Its aim is a person able to stand, settled in what God desires. That labor happens in prayer, even when you cannot see it.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

The lie that maturity is a private achievement is undone here: another person’s persistent prayer is part of your becoming able to stand.
