This verse in the King James

King James wording
I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

The blazing wheels turn the throne from static authority into authority already in motion.

You see the Ancient of Days clothed in snow-white, with wool-white hair: the image joins immeasurable age with clearness. The throne is fire, and its wheels burn too; authority is seated, yet it moves.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

This undoes the assumption that divine authority is inert or fixed in place: the throne is seated, but its burning wheels show it in motion.

גלגלוהי

galgalohi

GROWS FROM

גלל

To roll or roll away.

“wheels” in this verse is galgalohi. English names the object, but the Aramaic word carries the action of rolling in its sound. This root links the wheel’s motion with the displacement of something rolled away: the throne’s fire is not still, but travels.

ALSO GROWS

galal: To roll or roll away.

גָּלַל

This verb carries the movement inside the wheel-word, making rolling rather than a fixed shape its shared seed.

gilgal: Rolling; Gilgal, a place-name connected in Joshua 5:9 with what is rolled away.

גִּלְגָּל

The LORD says, “This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt.” The same root that names the throne’s wheels can describe something being moved from its former hold.

When divine presence is disclosed, fire marks its active force.

And Mount Sinai smoked all over, because the LORD came down upon it in fire, and its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount trembled greatly.
Exodus 19:18 · SDVFire marks the LORD’s visible arrival, making divine presence an event that shakes the ground.
Clouds and thick darkness are around him; alignment and judgment are the footing of his throne. A fire goes before him and blazes all around those who press against him.
Psalm 97:2-3 · SDVFire goes before the throne as righteousness and judgment take their seat.
Out of the throne come lightnings and thunderings and voices, and seven lamps of fire are burning before the throne, which are the seven breaths of God.
Revelation 4:5 · SDVThe throne sends out lightning and carries burning lamps, showing its authority as active force.
Roll your way upon the LORD, and lean your weight on him, and he will do it.
Psalm 37:5 · SDV

Daniel’s “wheels” comes from ⁨גלל⁩ (galal, roll), the same root behind Psalm 37:5’s “Commit”: roll your way onto the LORD. That shared root makes the fiery wheels more than ornament, the image of authority in motion meets a way placed upon the LORD.
