This verse in the King James

King James wording
And thou shalt put the staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.

The ark’s weight moves through a fitted connection, staves entering rings, so it is carried by design, not force alone.

The staves are brought into the rings at the ark’s sides, creating the path through which its weight reaches the bearers. What is sacred becomes movable through supports fitted to carry it. That pattern is alive wherever something weighty passes through a structure made to bear it.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

It undoes the belief that a sacred weight moves by strength alone: here the ark is carried through poles fitted into rings.

לָשֵׂאת

laset

GROWS FROM

נשא

nasa

Lift, raise, carry, bear.

“lifted” in this verse is laset. The same root holds the lifting of a weight and the bearing of it away. In this verse, the ark’s weight is carried through supports; elsewhere, the root can describe carrying away crookedness, a form of release.

ALSO GROWS

nasi: A leader or prince, traditionally understood as one lifted up.

נָשִׂיא

The lifting sense sits inside the word for carrying: the ark is borne by being raised onto its appointed supports.

nose avon: To bear or remove ⁨עָוֹן⁩ (avon, crookedness); a form of release.

נֹשֵׂא עָוֹן

The root can treat what weighs on someone as something borne away, extending this verse’s image of carrying beyond physical weight.

וְהֵבֵאתָ

ve-heveita

GROWS FROM

בוא

bo

Come or enter; in the causative form, bring or cause to enter.

Under “put” is a verb of bringing into: the staves enter the rings, and that fit comes before the carrying. The word keeps visible the movement into a structure that can bear the ark’s weight.

ALSO GROWS

ba: Came, entered, or arrived.

בָּא

The staves’ movement into the rings echoes the root’s basic motion of entering.

hevi: Brought or caused to enter.

הֵבִיא

The verse uses this causative shape: the poles are brought into their carrying position.

Weight becomes bearable when it is carried through a fitting support or a willing bearer.

But to the sons of Kohath he gave none, for the service of the set-apart things belonging to them was that they should lift upon their shoulders.
Numbers 7:9 · SDVThe sanctuary’s weight is assigned to bearers equipped to carry it on their shoulders.
Carry one another's weights, and so you fill up the instruction of the Anointed One.
Galatians 6:2 · SDVA burden becomes bearable through another person’s willingness to carry it.
Even to old age I AM, and to gray hair I will bear you. I have made, and I will lift, I will bear, and I will slip you free.
Isaiah 46:4 · SDVThe one who made the reader names himself as the bearer who carries them.
So you shall say to Joseph, "Release, I pray you now, the rebellion of your brothers, and their falling short, for they did you evil. And now, we pray you, release the rebellion of the servants of the God of your father." And Joseph wept as they spoke to him.
Genesis 50:17 · SDV

The KJV’s “forgive” here uses the same ⁨נשא⁩ (nasa, lift, carry, bear) root as “borne” in the ark verse; the wrong named ⁨פֶּשַׁע⁩ (pesha, rebellion) is treated as something that can be carried away. The root opens physical bearing into release.
