This verse in the King James

King James wording
And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:

The veil is no blank barrier: its deliberate design bears the cherubim imagery that guards Eden’s way to life.

You encounter the threshold before the innermost presence as richly colored, finely worked fabric with cherubim woven into it. Separation is not pictured as emptiness; the threshold itself carries an image of guarded access.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

A boundary before God is only an empty denial of access.

GROWS FROM

ח־ש־ב

To think, reckon, or devise; here, the work is described as intentional design.

“cunning work” in this verse is ma'aseh choshev. The veil’s artistry belongs to the language of thought and design. Its boundary is composed with purpose, and the cherubim are part of that deliberate pattern.

The same root can express reckoning, carrying a sense of considered order into the veil’s crafted design.

Access to life and divine presence is pictured at a threshold: guarded by cherubim, divided by a veil, and described as a way through.

So he drove out the man, and he pitched the cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and the flaming sword that turned every way would guard the way of the tree of life.
Genesis 3:24 · SDVCherubim stand at Eden’s boundary to keep the way to the tree of life.
And you shall hang up the veil under the taches, so that you may bring in there, within the veil, the ark of the testimony; and the veil shall divide for you between the set-apart place and the most set-apart place.
Exodus 26:33 · SDVThe veil with its cherubim divides the holy place from the most holy.
A fresh and living way that he opened anew for us through the hanging curtain of his flesh;
Hebrews 10:20 · SDVThe veil becomes an image of a way through the threshold.
So he drove out the man, and he pitched the cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and the flaming sword that turned every way would guard the way of the tree of life.
Genesis 3:24 · SDV

Genesis places cherubim (⁨כְּרֻבִים⁩, keruvim, celestial beings) at Eden’s edge to keep the way to the tree of life. Here, cherubim are woven into the veil, so the threshold before the innermost presence echoes Eden’s guarded way.
