This verse in the King James

King James wording
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

The Son’s arrival is a double entry: the same Greek verb describes him becoming of a woman and coming under instruction.

The fullness of time arrives, and God’s sending takes shape through a woman and beneath instruction. The Son meets human life from within its actual conditions: birth, body, and the order that governs a life.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

The verse undoes the belief that God’s presence can reach you only once you are free of the conditions governing your life.

γενόμενον

genomenon

GROWS FROM

⁨γίνομαι⁩ (ginomai), with the stem ⁨γεν-⁩ (gen-)

Become, come to be, happen.

“come from a woman” in this verse is genomenon. The same verb appears twice: the Son becomes of a woman and becomes under instruction. Birth and life within instruction are presented as parallel forms of entry.

ALSO GROWS

genesis: birth, origin

γένεσις

This branch brings the sense of coming into being into view: the Son enters human life through birth.

genos: family, lineage, kind

γένος

This branch connects becoming with belonging to a human line and kind.

ἐξαπέστειλεν

exapesteilen

GROWS FROM

⁨ἀποστέλλω⁩ (apostellō), send; with ⁨ἐξ-⁩ (ex-), out

Send, dispatch, send out or away.

“sent out” in this verse is exapesteilen. God’s action has direction: the Son is sent forth into the fullness of time. The sending family names both the act and the one who is sent.

ALSO GROWS

apostolos: sent one, messenger

ἀπόστολος

The branch names a person through the act of being sent, echoing the Son’s arrival as God’s sending.

apostolē: sending, commission

ἀποστολή

This branch makes the sending itself visible as an act with direction and purpose.

νόμον

nomon

GROWS FROM

νόμος

nomos

Instruction, established order, custom.

“come under the instruction” in this verse is nomon. The Son is not described as outside instruction; he comes under it. This places the divine sending within the order that shapes human life.

ALSO GROWS

nomothetēs: lawgiver, one who establishes instruction

νομοθέτης

This branch draws attention to the authority that sets an order, the order under which the Son comes.

nomothesia: giving or establishing instruction

νομοθεσία

This branch shows instruction as an established structure, not merely an abstract idea.

God’s deliverance meets human vulnerability by entering the conditions of life from within.

And I have come down to snatch them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land into a good and wide land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
Exodus 3:8 · SDVThe LORD comes down into the place of oppression to deliver people and bring them out.
And the word became flesh and pitched a tent among us, and we beheld his weight, the weight as of the only-born from the Father, full of favor and truth.
John 1:14 · SDVThe Word enters embodied human life and dwells among those it meets.
Since then the children share in common flesh and blood, he likewise shared in those same things with them, so that through death he might make idle the one who held the strength of death, the Slanderer.
Hebrews 2:14 · SDVHe shares flesh and blood with humanity, meeting its vulnerability from within.
And the word became flesh and pitched a tent among us, and we beheld his weight, the weight as of the only-born from the Father, full of favor and truth.
John 1:14 · SDV

John’s “was made” is another form of ⁨γίνομαι⁩ (ginomai), “become,” the same verb repeated in Galatians. The shared root lets “made of a woman” open into the Word becoming flesh and dwelling among us.
