This verse in the King James

King James wording
Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

The ark is not life’s destination; it is shelter from which each distinct kind emerges back onto the earth.

The verse holds preservation and emergence together: each kind passes through enclosure and goes out into its place on the earth. Its living word meets you where safety can feel like the whole horizon: being preserved can also mean returning to open life with your distinct form intact.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

It dissolves the belief that preservation means permanent enclosure: the ark shelters life for its return to the earth.

יָצְאוּ

yats'u

GROWS FROM

יצא

to go out, come forth, emerge

“went out” in this verse is yats'u. The verb carries more than departure: its word-family also names what proceeds from a source and the point where one space opens into another. Here, leaving the ark is life emerging from shelter back into the earth, with its distinct kinds retained.

ALSO GROWS

motsa: going out; what comes forth from a source

מוֹצָא

Deuteronomy 8:3 uses this word for what proceeds from the LORD’s mouth, linking going forth with what sustains life.

totza'ot: outgoings; boundary endpoints

תּוֹצָאוֹת

Numbers 34:4 uses this form for a boundary’s going forth; the word-family can mark where one space opens into another, as the ark’s exit opens back onto the earth.

The fullness of the world appears through life in many distinct kinds and places.

And God said, "Let the earth bring out living soul after its kind, cattle, creeping thing, and beast of the earth after its kind." And it was so.
Genesis 1:24 · SDVLife appears in distinct kinds, each with its place in the earth’s living order.
This sea, great and wide-armed; there are creeping things without number, beasts small and great.
Psalm 104:25 · SDVThe sea’s countless creatures show that the living world is abundant beyond one form or scale.
And every created thing in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, and all that is in them, I hear them saying, Blessing, and honor, and weight, and power, be to the one who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb, into the ages of the ages.
Revelation 5:13 · SDVEvery creature across the world’s different places belongs within creation’s full chorus.
And it came to be at the end of four hundred and thirty years, and on this very bone of the day it came to be, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.
Exodus 12:41 · SDV

The same root ⁨יצא⁩ (yatsa, “go out, come forth”) marks both the creatures leaving the ark and a people leaving Mitzrayim, the constricting place. In both, going out is the threshold where life is released into a wider world.
