This verse in the Selah Decoded Version

The sea does not have to disappear for a way to open: dry ground lies beneath your feet while water stands on both sides.

A way opens in the middle of what still surrounds you. The ground beneath your feet is dry while the waters remain on both sides; the passage is present before the surrounding conditions disappear.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

The belief that you cannot move forward until every surrounding pressure is gone dissolves here: the way is open while the waters are still beside it.

יַבָּשָׁה

yabbāšāh

GROWS FROM

יבש

To be dry, dry up, or wither.

The word for dry land grows from the same root as “dry” and “wither.” The verse names the passage by the dry ground beneath your feet: it is there in the midst of the waters, which remain gathered on either side.

ALSO GROWS

yāvēš: To be dry or withered.

יָבֵשׁ

The same root describes dryness as a state, showing the shared seed beneath “dry” and “dry land.”

hôvîš: To dry up or cause to dry.

הוֹבִישׁ

This verb shows the root in action: water recedes and ground is exposed, as in other scriptural crossings through water.

A way can open through waters without requiring the waters to vanish.

He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
Psalm 66:6 · KJVThe sea becomes dry land beneath those passing through, and the crossing itself becomes a cause for rejoicing.
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Isaiah 43:2 · KJVThe passage runs through waters and fire while the reader remains accompanied and unconsumed.
Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
1 Corinthians 10:1 · KJVThe sea is crossed through, making passage the defining movement rather than escape from the waters by going around them.
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Genesis 1:9 · KJV

Genesis uses the same Hebrew word for “dry land,” ⁨יַבָּשָׁה⁩ (yabbāšāh). The ground that appears amid gathered waters in creation is the same word for the walkable passage in Exodus, the opening reads like creation taking place again.
