Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.

King James Version The King James Version, first published in 1611. Selah Verse shows the standard text.
THE KEY
The land’s “corners” are its wings: the announced end reaches every far extension, not just a point on the map.
THE MEANING
This verse speaks now as a declaration of finality: an end has arrived across the whole field, reaching all four of its outer edges. Its repeated naming leaves no corner beyond its reach.
WHAT THIS UNDOES
It dissolves the belief that an ending remains distant or leaves some part of the land untouched.
THE ROOT
כַּנְפוֹת
kanfot
GROWS FROM
כנף
kanaf
Wing; an outer edge or extremity.
The Hebrew word rendered “corners” is also the word for “wing” and can name an outer edge or extremity. “Four corners” thus holds an image of the land’s wings: the end reaches its farthest extensions in every direction.
ALSO GROWS
kanaf: Wing; also an edge or extremity.
כָּנָף
The land’s outermost edges are called its wings, making the end’s reach comprehensive.
kanafayim: Wings.
כְּנָפַיִם
This plural form carries the same wing-image that Ezekiel uses for the land’s farthest reaches.
בָּא
ba
GROWS FROM
בוא
bo
Come, enter, arrive.
The end is said to come upon the land: the Hebrew verb carries the sense of arrival into a place. The limit has reached the field where the reader stands; it is no longer remote.
ALSO GROWS
bo: To come or enter.
בּוֹא
The verse presents the end as arriving upon the land, not remaining a distant possibility.
mavo: Entrance; a place of entry.
מָבוֹא
This noun from the same root evokes arrival across a threshold, sharpening the force of an end that has come.
THE PATTERN
Scripture uses the earth’s four extremities to mark the full reach of what it describes.
And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.THE THREAD
But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. The Hebrew behind “wings” is the same word Ezekiel uses for “corners.” Here the land’s wings receive the end; in Malachi, wings carry healing, one root holds both far-reaching extension and healing arrival.
