What Does Jeremiah 32:43 Mean in the King James?
And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

THE KEY
The word for “bought” carries acquisition into the very place declared empty and enemy-held.
THE MEANING
You can look directly at what is empty and under hostile control; the verse does not pretend the damage is small. It also lets another future stand beside it: fields are bought in that same place again. Loss is real here, but it is not the final condition.
WHAT THIS UNDOES
A place emptied and controlled by an enemy is lost for good. This verse makes that verdict temporary: fields are bought there again.
THE ROOT
וְנִקְנוּ
wəniqnû
GROWS FROM
קנה
q-n-h
To buy or acquire; to gain possession.
“bought” in this verse is wəniqnû. The same seed can name buying and possession, so the promise reaches beyond a transaction: fields return to people’s hands. Even land called empty and handed over remains something that can be acquired again.
ALSO GROWS
qoneh: Possessor; one who acquires.
קֹנֵה
In Genesis 14:19, this root names the “possessor of heaven and earth,” linking the fields bought here with the idea of possession itself.
qaniti: I have gotten or acquired.
קָנִיתִי
In Genesis 4:1, Eve uses this form when she says, “I have gotten a man from the LORD”; the same root can describe something newly received into a person’s life.
THE PATTERN
The land’s present desolation does not settle its future capacity for habitation.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings. And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation; And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.THE THREAD
And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:“Possessor” is קֹנֵה (qoneh), from the same root קנה (qanah) as “bought” here. The fields can return to people’s hands because the word-family holds both acquisition and possession.
