The Hebrew verb behind “sent” and “sending” also carries the sense of releasing or sending forth, so the verse presents the message as an ongoing act of release from constriction into the present.

The message keeps reaching you through voices sent to carry it, with a persistence that stretches from the exodus to “this day.” The verse sets that continued sending against Mitzrayim (⁨מִצְרַיִם⁩, Mitzrayim, “the two narrows”), tracing a movement from constriction toward release.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

It undoes the belief that a missed message means you are beyond further address: the sending continues “unto this day.”

וָאֶשְׁלַח

va’eshlach

GROWS FROM

שׁלח

Shalach (⁨שָׁלַח⁩, shalach) means to send, dispatch, send forth, and in some uses to release or let go.

“sent / sending” in this verse is va’eshlach. “Sent” and “sending” are forms of the same root, ⁨שׁלח⁩ (shalach), so the verse’s repeated action is one continuous sending. With Mitzrayim (⁨מִצְרַיִם⁩, Mitzrayim, “the two narrows”) as its starting point, that sending carries the movement from constriction toward release into the present.

ALSO GROWS

shaliach: A sent one; an envoy or messenger.

שָׁלִיחַ

The prophets are people sent to carry the message, so the root names both the act of sending and the messenger who bears it.

mishloach: A sending, dispatch, or delivery.

מִשְׁלוֹחַ

This noun keeps the emphasis on the message being sent outward and reaching its recipients.

The message keeps arriving through sent voices, even when its recipients resist or refuse it.

And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
2 Chronicles 36:15 · KJVAs in Jeremiah, the sending recurs with messengers rising early, and the verse names compassion as its source.
And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
Jeremiah 25:4 · KJVThe repeated sending meets refusal without ceasing to be sent.
Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
Matthew 23:34 · KJVThe sending continues, even as the verse holds plainly the violence the messengers face.
Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
Exodus 3:10 · KJV

“Send” here is also ⁨שׁלח⁩ (shalach): Moses is sent toward Pharaoh so the people can come out of Egypt. Jeremiah’s “from Egypt unto this day” links that sending to the repeated sending of the prophets.
