Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

THE KEY
The Spirit names righteousness at the very moment Jesus becomes unseen: alignment with the Father survives the loss of visible proof.
THE MEANING
The Spirit shows you that alignment with God is not measured by what your eyes can keep in view: Jesus is with the Father though you see him no more. His being unseen does not make his right relation to the Father less real.
WHAT THIS UNDOES
The verse undoes the belief that if Jesus is no longer visible, his righteousness has disappeared.
THE ROOT
δικαιοσύνης
dikaiosynēs
GROWS FROM
δικ- (dik-), from δίκη (dikē)
What is right or just; right order and alignment.
“righteousness” in this verse is dikaiosynēs. This word belongs to a family that describes what is right and the recognition of someone as right. Here, Jesus’ going to the Father reveals his alignment with the Father, so his being out of sight does not undo the right relation the verse names.
ALSO GROWS
dikaios: right, just
δίκαιος
The same word family describes a person as being in the right, bringing the verse’s sense of alignment into focus.
dikaioō: to justify, declare right
δικαιόω
This branch names the recognition of right standing; in the verse, Jesus’ going to the Father reveals rather than erases his right relation.
THE PATTERN
Alignment with God is revealed through trust and lived truth, and it remains real beyond what sight can verify.
And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.THE THREAD
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; The same word translated “righteousness” appears in both verses. John 16:10 ties it to Jesus’ going to the Father; Romans 3:21 says God’s righteousness is made manifest, opening alignment as something revealed even when it is not established by visible performance.
