THE KEY
His name is not a password that summons him; it is the nature of the gathering where he is already present.
THE MEANING
When people gather in the nature of Yeshua, his presence is among them now. Even the smallest gathering holds a shared center; its meaning does not depend on how large it becomes.
WHAT THIS UNDOES
This undoes the belief that God’s presence requires an impressive crowd: even two or three gathered in his nature are enough.
THE ROOT

GROWS FROM
ὄνομα
onoma
Name; also the identity or reputation carried by a name.
In this verse, gathering in Yeshua’s name points beyond speaking a label: the gathering takes its character from him. His presence is in the shared nature of the gathering, not in a spoken formula.

ὀνομάζω
Naming identifies whose character or authority a gathering carries.
onomastos: Named, renowned.
ὀνομαστός
A name can carry a person’s known character and reputation, not only distinguish one person from another.

GROWS FROM

synagō
To bring together; to gather.
“gathered together” in this verse is synēgmenoi. The wording presents people brought together into a shared gathering, not merely counted in the same place. That shared assembly is the setting in which the verse places Yeshua among them.

THE PATTERN
Divine presence takes its place among people who gather around God’s purpose.
And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,THE THREAD
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. The word translated “assembling” comes from the same Greek gathering family as “gathered together” in Matthew. The two verses reveal a shared movement: people brought together, with presence and mutual encouragement taking shape among them.
