What Does Micah 2:13 Mean in the King James?
The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.

THE KEY
The Hebrew names the breaker and the people’s breaking-through with the same root, so the opening and their passage belong to one movement.
THE MEANING
A breach opens ahead of the people, and they pass through it; their own breaking-through follows the breaker’s. Their king goes before them, with the LORD at their head, so the way out has a leader already out front.
WHAT THIS UNDOES
The lie is that those inside must make the opening alone: here the breaker comes first, then the people pass through with their king and the LORD at their head.
THE ROOT
הַפֹּרֵץ
happōrēṣ
GROWS FROM
פרץ
To break through or burst out; a breach.
“breaker / broken through” in this verse is happōrēṣ. Micah uses the same root first for the one who breaks through ahead of them, then for the people who break through. The opening is not separate from their movement: the verse binds the breaker and their passage into one word-family.
ALSO GROWS
happōrēṣ: The one breaking through; the one who opens a breach.
הַפֹּרֵץ
This is the figure who comes up before the people, making the way out visible in the verse.
pāreṣû: They broke through or burst out.
פָּרְצוּ
The people’s movement repeats the breaker’s root; they pass through the opening that has come ahead of them.
Pharez: Breach; breaking through.
פֶּרֶץ
The name in Genesis 38:29 carries the same root, where a breach becomes the way someone emerges.
THE PATTERN
Deliverance unfolds as an opening made ahead of people, followed by their passage out under a leader’s direction.
I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.THE THREAD
And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez.Genesis names the breach פֶּרֶץ (pereṣ, “breach”), from פרץ (pāraṣ, “break through”), the same root as Micah’s breaker and the people’s breaking-through. In both verses, a breach becomes the passage through which someone comes out.
