But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

King James Version The King James Version, first published in 1611. Selah Verse shows the standard text.
THE KEY
The LORD’s glory is the weight of his presence, and the verse gives the whole earth as its vessel.
THE MEANING
The living God puts his own life behind this promise: the whole earth will be filled with the weight of the LORD’s presence. Its scope includes every place the reader inhabits; no part of the earth lies outside the sentence.
WHAT THIS UNDOES
This undoes the belief that God’s presence belongs only to sanctuaries or exceptional moments; the verse names the whole earth.
THE ROOT
כָּבוֹד
kavod
GROWS FROM
כבד
To be heavy; to carry weight.
English “glory” can suggest brilliance or reputation; כָּבוֹד (kavod), meaning weight or honor, carries the sense of weight and of honor given to what has weight. Here the LORD’s presence is presented as weight filling the earth, so the verse describes more than visibility.
ALSO GROWS
kaved: Heavy, weighty.
כָּבֵד
This branch makes the weight within “glory” tangible: the presence filling the earth has substance and consequence.
kibbed: To honor, to accord weight.
כִּבֵּד
The same root links weight with honor, showing why the LORD’s presence is worthy of regard throughout the earth.
וְיִמָּלֵא
veyimmālēʾ
GROWS FROM
מלא
To fill; to be full.
The verb presents the earth as what is filled. Joined to “all the earth,” that grammar makes the whole world the recipient of a fullness whose source is the LORD’s presence.
ALSO GROWS
male: Full.
מָלֵא
This branch names the state toward which the earth is moving: fullness.
mille: To fill, to make full.
מִלֵּא
The same root can name the act of filling as well as the state of being full; here the earth receives that fullness.
THE PATTERN
The LORD’s weight is declared across the whole earth, not limited to one sacred place.
And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen. For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.THE THREAD
Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.Exodus describes the LORD’s glory filling the tabernacle; Numbers uses the same language of glory and filling with all the earth as its scope. The connection widens the scene from a tent to the whole earth.
