This verse in the Selah Decoded Version

Zion’s rebuilding is itself the unveiling of God’s weight.

As the LORD builds Zion, his weight becomes visible. The verse holds restoration and revelation together: the rebuilt place is where presence is perceived. It speaks now wherever what is broken is being made whole before your eyes.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

It undoes the belief that God’s presence and the rebuilding of what is broken are separate: here the rebuilding is where God’s weight appears.

כָּבוֹד

kavod

GROWS FROM

כבד

To be heavy or weighty.

“glory” in this verse is kavod. Kavod carries the sense of weight: the LORD’s presence has substance that can be perceived. As Zion is built up, that weight appears; restoration and revelation belong together.

ALSO GROWS

kaved: Heavy, weighty.

כָּבֵד

It preserves the root’s concrete sense of weight inside the word translated “glory.”

kibbed: To honor, to treat as weighty.

כִּבֵּד

Honor grows from recognizing the weight carried by the one who appears.

בָּנָה

banah

GROWS FROM

בנה

To build or establish.

“build up” in this verse is banah. The verse ties the act of building Zion directly to the LORD becoming visible. What is established becomes a place where his presence is recognized.

ALSO GROWS

mivneh: Structure, building.

מִבְנֶה

It names the formed structure that grows from the act of building.

binyan: Building, construction.

בִּנְיָן

It echoes the ongoing work of establishing Zion.

נִרְאָה

nir'ah

GROWS FROM

ראה

To see or perceive; to become visible.

“appear” in this verse is nir'ah. The appearance belongs to the root of seeing and perception. The verse presents the LORD’s presence as something that comes into view as Zion is built.

ALSO GROWS

mar'eh: Appearance, sight, vision.

מַרְאֶה

It names what comes into view when presence is revealed.

ro'eh: One who sees; a seer.

רֹאֶה

It shows the perceiving side of the same root: what appears can be seen.

When God establishes a dwelling, his presence becomes visible and fills the space.

And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
Haggai 2:7 · KJVThe house is filled with God’s presence as the place is established.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 · KJVThe Word dwells among people, and his glory becomes visible to them.
Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
Revelation 21:11 · KJVThe city bears God’s glory as visible light.
Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Exodus 40:34 · KJV

The same Hebrew word ⁨כָּבוֹד⁩ (kavod, weight) fills the dwelling here. Psalm 102 joins that inhabiting presence to Zion’s rebuilding: construction and appearing move together.
