This verse in the Selah Decoded Version

The seven plagues are not just signs of divine anger; they are where that anger reaches its completed measure.

The vision places a terrible completion before you: God’s anger reaches its full measure in seven final plagues. Their severity and their endpoint stand together in the verse.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

It undoes the belief that this judgment is an endless, undefined threat: the verse gives it a number, a form, and a completion.

ἐτελέσθη

etelesthē

GROWS FROM

τελ-

tel-

Complete, bring to an end, or reach a goal.

“filled up” in this verse is etelesthē. The verb says the anger is brought to completion in the plagues. That root carries both an ending and an arrival at the full measure.

ALSO GROWS

telos: End, goal, or outcome.

τέλος

It shows completion as an arrival point, sharpening the force of the plagues’ endpoint.

teleios: Complete, brought to maturity.

τέλειος

This branch reveals completion as a full measure reached, not merely an event stopping.

θυμοῦ

thymou

GROWS FROM

θυμ-

thym-

Anger, heat, or intense impulse.

Beneath “wrath” is anger with heat and force in it. The verse sets that heated force within a completion: it reaches its full measure in these plagues.

ALSO GROWS

thymoō: To become angry or to enrage.

θυμόω

The verb makes the anger’s active force visible beneath the noun “wrath.”

thymikos: Passionate or hot-tempered.

θυμικός

This adjective carries the heat of the same word family, adding force to the image of anger reaching its full measure.

A measure or course reaches its full point, and completion marks the boundary between what is still unfolding and what has arrived.

But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
Genesis 15:16 · KJVThe verse names a limit that has not yet been reached: the measure is still unfolding.
Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
Matthew 23:32 · KJVThe image of a measure being filled makes accumulated deeds reach a point of completion.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
2 Timothy 4:7 · KJVA course, like a measure, reaches its completion when its full span has been run.
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
Revelation 15:8 · KJV

The verb translated “fulfilled” comes from the same Greek root ⁨τελ-⁩ (tel-, completion) as “filled up” here. This verse makes the endpoint concrete: the temple remains inaccessible until the seven plagues reach their completion.
