This verse in the Selah Decoded Version

God’s “all things” are not detached benefits; they come with the Son, as favor flowing from the gift already handed over.

You meet this verse inside the measure of God’s giving: the Son is handed over for all, and with him God freely grants all things. The verb translated “freely give” carries the sense of favor, so the gift is received as favor rather than earned as payment.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

It dissolves the belief that you must first become worthy for God’s giving to begin: the verse grounds that generosity in the Son already given for all.

χαρίσεται

charisetai

GROWS FROM

χάρις

charis

Favor; goodwill freely extended.

“Freely give” is charizomai, a verb from charis, favor. What God gives with the Son is framed as favor, not a wage earned apart from him.

ALSO GROWS

charisma: A gracious gift; a gift of favor.

χάρισμα

This related word names a gift as the outcome of favor, illuminating the character of what is given.

charitoō: To favor or bestow favor upon.

χαριτόω

This verb carries the same favor-root into an act, showing how the root can describe favor being extended.

παρέδωκεν

paredōken

GROWS FROM

δίδωμι

didōmi

To give.

“Delivered him up” is paradidōmi: to hand over. Its giving-root echoes the verse’s later “freely give,” joining the Son handed over for all to the all things granted with him.

ALSO GROWS

paradidōmi: To hand over; deliver up.

παραδίδωμι

This is the verb used for the Son’s being handed over, making the giving in this verse stark and concrete.

apodidōmi: To give back; repay.

ἀποδίδωμι

This related verb shows the wider reach of the giving-root, from handing over to giving in return.

The giver’s character is disclosed through what is not withheld and what is given.

And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
Genesis 22:12 · KJVThe verse names Abraham’s not withholding his son as the sign by which his awe of God is recognized.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 · KJVThe giving of the Son makes God’s love visible through the gift itself.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 · KJVThe verse places the reader within that giving while still a sinner, before any worthiness can be claimed.
Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Romans 4:25 · KJV

Romans 4:25 uses the same Greek verb, paradidōmi, for the Son being handed over. Romans 8:32 returns to that handover as the ground for the gifts that come with him.
