Selah Decoded Version The Selah Decoded Version renders what the Hebrew and Greek words meant to the people who first heard them.

This verse in the King James

King James wording
And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

The fear of being brought before power can make you live the answer before the hour arrives, but the verse places the answer inside the hour itself.

Even when you are brought before people with authority, you do not have to pre-live the encounter by anxiously scripting every answer. The next verse says the words are taught in that same hour, placing help in the moment when speech is needed.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

This undoes the belief that unless you prepare every possible answer in advance, you will be left speechless and alone.

μεριμνήσητε

merimnēsēte

GROWS FROM

μεριμνάω

merimnaō

To be anxious or burdened with care.

“pulled apart” in this verse is merimnēsēte. The Greek verb names anxious care; “take no thought” can sound like a ban on thinking or planning. The verse releases the demand to suffer the encounter in advance by scripting every possible answer, while leaving the act of answering intact.

ALSO GROWS

merimna: Care or anxiety.

μέριμνα

The noun branch names the anxious care the verse says need not govern the moment.

amerimnos: Free from care or anxiety.

ἀμέριμνος

This related form shows that the same word family can name freedom from the burden of anxious care.

When speech is demanded under pressure, the needed words are taught in the moment rather than secured through anxious rehearsal.

And now go, and I will be with your mouth, and I will teach you what you will speak.
Exodus 4:12 · SDVThe words are taught with the speaker in the moment of speaking.
But when they hand you over, do not be pulled apart over how or what you will say, for what you will say will be given to you in that very hour.
Matthew 10:19 · SDVThe answer is given in the hour it is needed, loosening the demand to prepare it beforehand.
For the Set-Apart Breath will teach you in that very hour what you must say.
Luke 12:12 · SDVThe next verse names the teaching that meets the pressure of the present hour.
For the Set-Apart Breath will teach you in that very hour what you must say.
Luke 12:12 · SDV

The next verse gives the source and timing of the answer: the Set-Apart Breath teaches what to say in the same hour. That places the passage’s assurance within the moment of speaking.
