This verse in the King James

King James wording
Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

The one called Son of Man is seated at the right hand of God’s power, placing the human within the image of divine rule.

The Son of Man is shown seated beside God’s power, at the place of authority. The title holds a human figure within that image of rule. The verse presents humanity and divine authority together in one scene.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

It undoes the assumption that the Son of Man is powerless or excluded from God’s rule: he is seated at the right hand of God’s power.

δυνάμεως

dynameōs

GROWS FROM

⁨δυν-⁩ (dyn-), from ⁨δύναμαι⁩ (dynamai)

to be able; capacity or ability

“strength” in this verse is dynameōs. The Greek word for power grows from the idea of being able: power is capacity in action. Luke uses this same word family for the life-bearing capacity that overshadows Mary, and here for the power beside which the Son of Man sits.

ALSO GROWS

dynatos: able, capable, powerful

δυνατός

It shares the capacity-root, showing that power names what can act or accomplish.

adynamia: inability, weakness

ἀδυναμία

Its same root with a negating prefix names the absence of capacity, sharpening the contrast in this verse between weakness and God’s power.

God’s authority is pictured through the Son of Man at God’s right hand.

Acts 7:56 · SDVThe Son of Man appears at God’s right hand, the same placement of human figure and divine authority.
Which he worked in the Anointed One, when he raised him from the dead, and seated him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 1:20 · SDVThe raised Christ is placed at God’s right hand, joining exaltation with divine rule.
And the messenger answered and said to her, The Set-Apart Breath will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore also that set-apart thing born of you will be called the Son of God.
Luke 1:35 · SDV

The word translated “power” is the same Greek word, ⁨δύναμις⁩ (dynamis), in both verses. In Luke 1 it names the capacity from which life comes; here that power is the seat beside which the Son of Man sits.
