This verse in the King James

King James wording
And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.

The same Greek verb-root carries Jesus outward and the crowd toward him, so teaching begins where their movements meet.

Jesus goes out beside the sea, and the crowd keeps coming toward him; teaching meets them in that shared movement. The scene speaks now of instruction taking place where people draw near, in the open flow of life.

ἐξῆλθεν

exēlthen

GROWS FROM

ἔρχομαι

erchomai

to come or go; the prefix supplies the direction, as in going out or going in

“came” in this verse is exēlthen. The Greek ⁨ἐξῆλθεν⁩ (exēlthen, “went out”) shares the verb-root ⁨ἔρχομαι⁩ (erchomai, “come or go”) with ⁨ἤρχετο⁩ (ērcheto, “was coming”), the crowd’s movement toward Jesus. English gives them different verbs, while Greek lets the verse echo with one movement: he goes out, and they come toward him.

ALSO GROWS

erchomai: to come or go

ἔρχομαι

This is the shared verb-root beneath Jesus’ going out and the crowd’s coming toward him.

exerchomai: to go out or come forth

ἐξέρχομαι

This compound names Jesus’ outward movement beside the sea.

eiserchomai: to go in or enter

εἰσέρχομαι

The same verb-root can describe movement inward; here its outward form carries the teaching into the open.

The word is spoken where people come near enough to hear, and gathering makes instruction shared.

Especially the day you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb, when the LORD said to me, Assemble the people to me, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn awe of me all the days they live upon the earth, and that they may train their children.
Deuteronomy 4:10 · SDVPeople gather together to hear the words, and what they learn becomes something they can teach onward.
Come, children, and hear and respond to me. I train you in the awe of the LORD.
Psalm 34:11 · SDVThe invitation to come near and hear opens directly into teaching.
And it happened, as the crowd pressed upon him to hear the word of God, that he stood beside the lake of Gennesaret.
Luke 5:1 · SDVPeople press toward Jesus beside the lake because they want to hear the word.
And he said to them, "Let us go into the neighboring towns, so that I may herald there also, for this is why I came out."
Mark 1:38 · SDV

The words translated “went forth” here and “came I forth” there come from ⁨ἐξέρχομαι⁩ (exerchomai, “go out”). Mark 1:38 connects that outward movement with carrying the message; Mark 2:13 shows people coming toward Jesus as he teaches beside the sea.
