This verse in the King James

King James wording
And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,

The first act of crossing a boundary is not arrival but sending a word ahead.

A boundary in your path does not make movement impossible: a message can travel ahead of you and open contact across it. This is the threshold before any answer, where the first movement is a word sent outward.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

The lie that no movement is possible before the road is open dissolves here: a sent word already reaches toward the boundary.

וַיִּשְׁלַח

wayyishlach

GROWS FROM

שׁ־ל־ח

sh-l-ḥ

To send forth; to release or let go.

English can make “sent” sound like a simple dispatch, but ⁨שׁ־ל־ח⁩ holds sending together with release and extension. Its branches connect a word sent ahead, waters sent forth, and provision extended outward.

ALSO GROWS

shilluach: Sending away; dismissal or release.

שִׁלּוּחַ

The same root names release as a sending outward, deepening the motion already present in Israel’s messengers.

Shiloach: Sent forth; the name of the waters of Shiloah.

שִׁלֹחַ

The root’s outward movement reaches healing water: John calls the pool of Siloam “Sent,” where a man washes and comes seeing.

shulchan: Table.

שֻׁלְחָן

The table carries the sense of provision extended outward, another form of what is sent from one toward another.

What is sent forth can open a way for release and restored sight.

And afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told the Great House, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may dance a feast to me in the wilderness.
Exodus 5:1 · SDVThe same sending-root appears in “Let my people go”: release begins as a command sent toward the one holding the way closed.
He sends his word and heals them, and slips them free from their pits.
Psalm 107:20 · SDVA word sent outward becomes the means of healing and deliverance.
And he said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, the Sent. So he went and washed, and came seeing.
John 9:7 · SDVThe pool named “Sent” carries water toward a washing after which sight returns.
And he said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, the Sent. So he went and washed, and came seeing.
John 9:7 · SDV

Numbers uses ⁨שׁ־ל־ח⁩ (sh-l-ḥ) for Israel sending messengers; John names the healing pool Siloam, “Sent,” echoing that same Hebrew root. What goes outward becomes the means through which sight arrives.
