This verse in the King James

King James wording
Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

The throne is refined like silver: the same Hebrew verb removes dross in verse 4 and wickedness in verse 5, leaving rule to stand in alignment.

Your seat of authority is shaped by what stands in its presence. As wickedness is cleared away, the throne becomes firm through alignment. Stability arises from a presence made clear and a just order that can hold.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

A throne can remain secure while wickedness stays close, provided the seat itself appears strong.

וְיִכּוֹן

weyikkon

GROWS FROM

כון

To be firm, fixed, or prepared.

“stands firm” in this verse is weyikkon. The throne comes into a firm, prepared condition; its stability is something set in order. This root also gives words for preparing and for a fixed place, linking the throne’s ability to hold with the order that supports it.

ALSO GROWS

hekin: Prepare, establish.

הֵכִין

The throne’s stability belongs to a process of setting things in order.

nakhon: Firm, ready, established.

נָכוֹן

This branch makes clear that establishment carries the sense of being made ready and able to stand.

makon: A fixed place or dwelling.

מָכוֹן

The same root can name a place made firm, echoing the throne as a stable seat of rule.

צֶדֶק

tsedeq

צַדִּיק

The root describes the character of a person as well as the order of a throne.

tsedaqah: Righteousness, justice.

צְדָקָה

A throne stands as its rule is ordered by righteousness.

It is loathed by kings to do wickedness, for by alignment the throne stands firm.

And in faithful love the throne will be set firm, and upon it he will settle in truth, in the tent of David, judging, seeking judgment, and hurrying alignment.
Isaiah 16:5 · SDVThe throne is established through mercy, truth, judgment, and righteousness held together.
But to the Son he says, Your throne, O God, is for the age of the ages, and the rod of straightness is the rod of your governance.
Hebrews 1:8 · SDVThe ruler’s authority is expressed through a sceptre of righteousness.
Scrape the dross from the silver, and a vessel comes out for the smelter.
Proverbs 25:4 · SDV

The opening imperative is ⁨הָגוֹ⁩ (hāgô, “remove”) in both verses: first dross is cleared from silver, then the wicked from before the king. The parallel reveals governance as refinement: once corruption is cleared, the throne can stand in alignment.
