This verse in the King James

King James wording
God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

The line refuses to let God’s blessing on us remain local: its horizon is the whole earth’s awe of him.

God’s blessing meets us now, while the earth’s farthest edges remain within the horizon of awe toward him. What is given among us belongs to a vision larger than us: recognition of God across the whole earth.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

God’s blessing is a private advantage that stops with us. This verse places it beside the whole earth’s response to God.

יְבָרְכֵנוּ

yevarekhenu

GROWS FROM

ברך

b-r-k

The root ⁨ברך⁩ (barak) means to bless; the same consonants form ⁨בֶּרֶךְ⁩ (berekh), knee.

“bless” in this verse is yevarekhenu. The word for blessing shares its root with the word for knee, carrying a bodily image of bending. Beside it, the earth’s awe of God makes the verse’s movement feel like blessing meeting reverence.

ALSO GROWS

berakhah: Blessing; the act or gift of blessing.

בְּרָכָה

It names what God gives here, a gift whose horizon extends beyond the people receiving it.

berekh: Knee.

בֶּרֶךְ

This branch preserves the root’s image of bending, adding a posture beneath the word blessing without replacing its plain meaning.

וְיִירְאוּ

veyir'u

GROWS FROM

ירא

y-r-ʾ

The root ⁨ירא⁩ (yare) means to fear; when God is the one feared, its sense opens into awe.

“stand in awe of him” in this verse is veyir'u. The English word “fear” can suggest alarm alone, but ⁨ירא⁩ (yare) also names awe before God. The verse sets that awe across all the earth, so its scope is as wide as God’s blessing.

ALSO GROWS

yir'ah: Fear or awe.

יִרְאָה

This noun from the same root names the response the verse places across the earth.

nora: Awe-inspiring or fearful.

נוֹרָא

This related form describes what evokes awe, illuminating the reverence directed toward God.

God’s blessing among a people belongs to a horizon where the whole earth can recognize and stand in awe of God.

And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse, and in you all the families of the ground will be blessed.
Genesis 12:3 · SDVThe blessing given through one person reaches all the families of the earth.
That your way may be perceived upon the earth, your deliverance among all the nations.
Psalm 67:2 · SDVGod’s work among his people is set beside its becoming known across the earth and among all nations.
Who will not stand in awe of you, Lord, and give weight to your name? For you alone are set apart, and all the nations come and bow down before your face, for your judgments are made visible.
Revelation 15:4 · SDVThe horizon of the earth’s awe opens into all nations coming before God.
He blesses those who stand in awe of the LORD, both the small and the great.
Psalm 115:13 · SDV

This verse joins the same roots: ⁨ברך⁩ (barak, bless) and ⁨ירא⁩ (yare, fear or awe). Here blessing and awe meet among the people; Psalm 67 widens their horizon to the earth’s farthest edges.
