This verse in the King James

King James wording
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

The one named at both ends of the alphabet turns seeing into a written message that travels through a whole community.

The voice that names the first and last addresses what you see and gives that seeing a path: write it, then send it. The revelation becomes legible across a community, named one assembly at a time.

γράψον

grapson

GROWS FROM

γράφω

graphō

to write or inscribe

“write” in this verse is grapson. English can make writing sound like a clerical step after the important part, but this word’s family holds writing, written signs, and scripture together. What is seen takes a readable form that can cross distance and reach beyond the one who first sees it.

ALSO GROWS

graphē: writing; scripture

γραφή

The seen message becomes a text that can be read by others.

gramma: a letter or written character

γράμμα

A vision carried into written marks can travel beyond the moment of seeing.

A vision becomes shareable when it is made legible and carried to a community.

And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon the tablets, so that the one who calls it out may run.
Habakkuk 2:2 · SDVThe vision is written plainly so that another person can read it and carry it onward.
Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Write for yourself in a scroll all the words I have spoken to you.
Jeremiah 30:2 · SDVThe spoken message is given a written form that can hold it beyond the moment it is heard.
But these are written so that you might lean your full weight on this, that Jesus is the Anointed One, the Son of God, and that by leaning your weight you might have life in his nature.
John 20:31 · SDVThe written record carries what is seen to readers who were not present at the seeing.
Write therefore what you have seen, and what is, and what is about to come to be after these things.
Revelation 1:19 · SDV

The same command to write returns, opening its scope from what is seen to what is, and what is still to come. Writing is the hinge that carries perception into a shared record.
