This verse in the King James

King James wording
Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

The Aramaic says “come out” first as a command at the furnace’s mouth, then as the men’s actual emergence.

The verse places a call at the edge of the fire while the three men remain within it. The word for “come out” returns as the word for their emergence: the danger is present, but it is not their final location.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

Being inside the fire means there is no way out.

נְפַקוּ

The narration repeats the root to describe the men emerging from the fire.

The Aramaic root ⁨נפק⁩ (n-p-q), “go out” or “issue forth,” describes the decree that goes forth here and the men who come out of the fire in Daniel 3:26. The same root carries both the sentence issued against them and their emergence from the furnace.
