What Does Daniel 3:26 Mean in the King James?
Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

THE KEY
The Aramaic says “come out” first as a command at the furnace’s mouth, then as the men’s actual emergence.
THE MEANING
The verse places a call at the edge of the fire while the three men remain within it. The word for “come out” returns as the word for their emergence: the danger is present, but it is not their final location.
WHAT THIS UNDOES
Being inside the fire means there is no way out.
THE ROOT
פְּקוּ
peqû
GROWS FROM
נפק
n-p-q
To go out, emerge, or issue forth.
“come forth” in this verse is peqû. The same Aramaic root appears first in the king’s plural command and then in the narration of the men’s exit. The spoken “come out” and the actual emergence become one movement.
ALSO GROWS
peqû: Come out! (plural command)
פְּקוּ
The king speaks this command at the furnace’s mouth.
nepaqû: They came out.
נְפַקוּ
The narration repeats the root to describe the men emerging from the fire.
THE PATTERN
Scripture shows people passing through danger and confinement into an open way.
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.THE THREAD
And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain. The Aramaic root נפק (n-p-q), “go out” or “issue forth,” describes the decree that goes forth here and the men who come out of the fire in Daniel 3:26. The same root carries both the sentence issued against them and their emergence from the furnace.
