This verse in the Selah Decoded Version

Possession does not settle belonging: the ark must be sent back to its place.

The Philistines’ question turns toward release: they ask how to send the ark back to its place. The verse shows you that holding something is not the same as having its rightful place settled.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

The belief that whatever is in your hands is yours to keep breaks here; the question becomes how to return it.

נְשַׁלְּחֶנּוּ

neshallĕḥennû

GROWS FROM

שׁלח

send, send away, release

This verb carries both sending and sending away or releasing. Here, the ark’s return begins when its captors let it go, so “send” also exposes the release inside the action.

ALSO GROWS

shallach: send, release

שַׁלַּח

This is the imperative used in Exodus 8:1, where Pharaoh is told to let the people go.

Shiloach: Shiloah, the sent waters

שִׁלֹחַ

The name links sending with the waters of Shiloah; John 9:7 connects the pool called Siloam, “Sent,” with the restoration of sight.

מְקוֹמוֹ

meqomo

GROWS FROM

קום

stand, rise

The word for “place” is built from ⁨קום⁩ (qum, stand or rise), so “its place” carries the sense of where the ark is to stand. Its destination is a return to its established setting.

ALSO GROWS

qam: he stood, he rose

קָם

This verb gives the standing sense beneath the ark’s “place.”

heqim: establish, set up

הֵקִים

This causative form makes something stand, echoing the ark’s return to its appointed setting.

Release restores what has been held away to its proper relation and place.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
Exodus 8:1 · KJVThe command to release the people opens the way for them to return to their service of the LORD.
And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
2 Samuel 6:17 · KJVThe ark reaches the place where it is set among the people again.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luke 4:18 · KJVThe sent one brings release to those held under oppression.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
Exodus 8:1 · KJV

Exodus uses ⁨שַׁלַּח⁩ (shallach, “send” or “release”), the same root heard in ⁨נְשַׁלְּחֶנּוּ⁩ (neshallĕḥennû, “we shall send it”) here. Pharaoh is told to release a people; the Philistines ask how to release the ark toward its place, making letting go the passage from possession to rightful destination.
