This verse in the Selah Decoded Version

The command to see again and the narrator’s looking up are the same Greek verb: sight arrives already becoming recognition.

You are addressed as kin before your sight opens, and you receive the ability to look up at the person before you. The verse joins restoration to recognition in the very same hour.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

An interruption in your sight does not mean sight is beyond return.

ἀνάβλεψον

anablepson

GROWS FROM

βλεπ

blep

To see, to look.

The word translated “receive thy sight” is ⁨ἀνάβλεψον⁩ (anablepson, look up or see again); its answer, “I looked up,” is ⁨ἀνέβλεψα⁩ (aneblepsa, I looked up or saw again), built on the same ⁨βλέπ-⁩ (blep-, see/look) stem. English makes one sound like healing and the other like ordinary looking, while Greek makes them one movement: the command is fulfilled in the gaze.

ALSO GROWS

aneblepsa: I looked up; I saw again.

ἀνέβλεψα

The narrator’s response repeats the same verb stem as the command, showing sight restored in the very act of looking.

emblepō: Look at; gaze upon.

ἐμβλέπω

This related form directs seeing toward someone, echoing the way restored sight turns toward the brother standing there.

Restored sight is received as an opening that carries the one who was blind into seeing.

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Isaiah 35:5 · KJVSight comes as an opening of what had been closed.
The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Matthew 11:5 · KJVThe blind receive sight as part of a wider pattern of restoration.
He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
John 9:25 · KJVThe change is expressed as a direct passage from blindness into seeing.
And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.
Acts 22:11 · KJV

The verse before this says, “I could not see”; here ⁨ἀνάβλεψον⁩ (anablepson, look up or see again) is answered by ⁨ἀνέβλεψα⁩ (aneblepsa, I looked up or saw again), both from ⁨βλέπω⁩ (blepō, see/look). The same root carries the passage from inability to sight, with the change happening in the same hour.
