This verse in the Selah Decoded Version

The entrance fails, but the carrying does not, the same intention finds a route from above.

The blocked entrance is a real barrier, but it does not become the boundary of your arrival. You are still on your couch, carried by others and lowered into the middle before Jesus. The verse holds dependence and access together: you do not have to make your way in alone.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

It dissolves the belief that a blocked way means help is no longer reachable.

GROWS FROM

φέρω

pherō

Carry, bear, bring.

The verb behind “bring him in” is ⁨εἰσφέρω⁩: ⁨εἰς⁩ means “into,” and ⁨φέρω⁩ means “carry” or “bear.” The route changes, but the carrying continues; English makes this sound like a search for an entrance, while the Greek keeps the man’s movement toward Jesus in view.

ALSO GROWS

pherō: Carry, bear, bring.

φέρω

This is the carrying at the heart of the verb: the man is borne toward Jesus, even when the direct entrance is blocked.

prospherō: Bring toward, present.

προσφέρω

This compound keeps the direction of the carrying visible: bearing someone toward a presence.

anapherō: Carry up, bring up.

ἀναφέρω

The same root can carry upward; here the men go up to the roof before lowering the man into the room.

A barrier does not dictate the route; movement continues through a passage opened within it.

And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
Exodus 14:22 · KJVThe sea stands as a boundary on both sides, yet a way passes through its midst.
And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
Mark 2:4 · KJVWhen the crowd blocks the approach, the roof becomes a passage for the man to reach Jesus.
Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.
Acts 9:25 · KJVWhen the ordinary way out is closed, Saul is carried through another opening in the wall.
And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
Luke 5:18 · KJV

Luke first shows the men bearing the man on a bed, then repeats the same carrying root in “bring him in.” The blocked doorway changes their route, but not the purpose: to carry him in and place him before Jesus.
