This verse in the King James

King James wording
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

The one who leads you in truth is already the God who brings you out.

God’s truth leads and teaches you now, while deliverance belongs to the same God who guides you. Your waiting through the day is held within that relationship of trust. The path and the rescue are not separate.

WHAT THIS UNDOES

This verse loosens the belief that deliverance is only a future event: the God who brings you out is leading and teaching you now.

יִשְׁעִי

yish‘i

GROWS FROM

ישע

Deliver, rescue; bring into safety and spaciousness.

The word translated “salvation” grows from yasha, deliverance from danger into room to move. The verse names God as your deliverance while asking to be led and taught: being brought out is already taking shape as guidance.

ALSO GROWS

yeshuah: deliverance

יְשׁוּעָה

It shares the root and makes clear that the verse’s “salvation” is God’s act of bringing you out.

moshia: deliverer

מוֹשִׁיעַ

This names the one who delivers; here, the God who also leads and teaches.

אֱמֶת

emet

GROWS FROM

אמן

Be firm, steady, reliable.

Truth here carries the sense of what can hold steady as it leads and teaches. Its root family also gives emunah, trust that leans its full weight, and amen, a firm assent.

ALSO GROWS

emunah: trust that leans its full weight

אֱמוּנָה

It shows how truth’s firmness becomes something you can rely on while waiting.

amen: firm, steady; amen

אָמֵן

It echoes truth as something established and dependable, not passing information.

God’s truth leads into freedom, and deliverance becomes ground for trust.

Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me, let them bring me to your set-apart mountain and to your dwelling places.
Psalm 43:3 · SDVTruth is pictured as a guide that leads you toward a place of nearness.
Look, God is my deliverance. I will lean my full weight and not tremble, for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song, and he has become my deliverance.
Isaiah 12:2 · SDVGod’s deliverance gives trust its ground, as it does in Psalm 25:5.
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
John 8:32 · SDVTruth does more than inform: it brings freedom.
Look, God is my deliverance. I will lean my full weight and not tremble, for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song, and he has become my deliverance.
Isaiah 12:2 · SDV

“My salvation” in both verses comes from the Hebrew root ⁨ישע⁩ (yasha), deliver. Isaiah makes the movement plain: the God who is your deliverance becomes the ground of trust.
